For the first time, I've made a complete play of mine available for downloading. The play is "Gifts of Flame", and it was written in its original form for the first "Sacred Earth Drama Competition" in the early 1990's. The purpose of the competition was to encourage the writing of plays, primarily for young people, which drew upon sacred tradition and myth in order to dramatise a particular concern with the earth and environment. "Gifts of Flame" won first prize, and was subsequently published alongside other entries by Faber in the collection "Sacred Earth Dramas".
As I believe that particular publication is now out of print, and as my chief concern is for the play to be made available to those working with young people, I thought it apt to make it generally, and freely available through this website. All I ask is that, if anyone does decide to produce it - with a school, youth or amateur theatre, for example - they let me know details of the production.
