About Walsall
War Poems

In September 2005 a company of 100 young people took part in a unique celebration of the 60th Anniversary of the ending of World War II.

The play was presented in a spectacular amphitheatre, specially constructed in the beautiful setting of Walsall Arboretum to mark this, Walsall’s very first "Play in the Park".

Artistic Directors from theatre companies Urban Voice and Round Midnight put together an intensive rehearsal schedule, working closely with the cast right up until opening night.

Throughout the Summer of 2005 more than 160 hours of rehearsal took place at the Darlaston Multi-Purpose Leisure Centre . This exacting schedule echoes the ethos of the process: Professional Standards with Professional Results!
